Hello, dear readers, it’s nice to meet you! We are really excited to bring you our newest brain child, this humble little blog dedicated to magic tricks. We don’t know if you are a magic fanatic like us or a normal person who enjoys occasional trickery, but we welcome everyone to explore the contents of our blog.

We want to use this section to tell you more about us and about the inspiration behind creating this blog. There will be no trickery this time, we pinky promise!

Who are We

This might surprise you, but we, the creators of this blog, are in fact a married couple and not two 10-year-old kids. We do have a child though, and he does like performing magic tricks ever since we got him his first set. He is also very curious, as most kids this age, and he wouldn’t stop asking us all sorts of questions regarding magic.

We both saw ourselves in him. We were the exact same when we were children. We gave each other stage names ending in -ini as to sound like Houdini and we performed tricks every day in front of an audience consisting of our parents who had to pretend they were amazed by our skills.

Funnily, we both tried to put our family pet in a hat as well, and since there was no internet back then to tell us how this trick is actually made (always use a bunny!), the poor things had to endure our endless attempts to perform it. We described the trick in one article to pay homage to our beginnings.

Why We Made this Blog

We wanted to make use of this wonderful creation known as the Internet and bring you some well-known and some not so well-known magic tricks. We also wanted to do something together as a family and to quench our son’s perpetual thirst for knowledge.

There is one more reason why we did it. Growing up, we were surround by magicians. You turn on the TV and you see David Copperfield. You go to a birthday party and a fun magician is entertaining you and your friends. All of our classmates in elementary school had a magic kit, and magic just seemed to always be around.

We can’t say the same for our son’s generation. Although you can always go on YouTube and see thousands of magic tricks (a privilege we would have died for in the past), kids don’t seem to be as interested as we were. Thus, we wanted to popularise this craft among those not familiar with it.

We want to show you that magic trickery has a long tradition, which we should aspire to continue. Thank you for visiting our blog and thank you for helping us popularise it!
